Anton Georghiou, Attorney

Anton Georghiou has been practicing law since 2008, with focus on family law and wills and trusts.

Mr. Georghiou has lived in San Diego for over 29 years. An honors student at San Diego State University, he earned a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in 2004. He attended California Western School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate of Law in 2008.

In 2012, Mr. Georghiou completed the San Diego Family Law College of Trial Advocacy Program, an intensive course focusing on Family Law Trial Advocacy issues. He is a member of the San Diego Bar Association, the California Bar Association, and participates in the San Diego Bar Association’s Modest Means Program to help low income clients who would not otherwise have access to legal representation.

Mr. Georghiou has experience litigating military divorces as well as high net worth clients with assets exceeding 10 million dollars. His practice focuses on litigation in the area of Family Law. He has represented clients in over 800 Request For Order Hearings and trials over the past 11 years.

His experience includes: restraining order hearings, dissolution of marriage/divorce, child custody and visitation, family law mediation, establishing or modifying child support or spousal support, marital agreements, mediation, determination of community and separate property, client discovery, domestic partnerships, move away, enforcement of orders including sanction motions, same sex and domestic partnership cases and annulments.

Anton Georghiou is fluent in Russian and has represented many Russian-speaking clients.

In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, surfing and is a practitioner of Aikido since 2001 at San Diego Aikikai.

Emilia Tavakoli, Attorney

Attorney Emilia Tavakoli earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Ms. Tavakoli's law practice began in estate planning before finding her calling in family law. Ms. Tavakoli has drafted over 100 wills and trusts for families and individuals, including special needs trusts, health care directives, and powers of attorney.

Ms. Tavakoli is a certified divorce mediator, and has earned a 30-hour divorce mediation training certificate from the Family Resolution Institute, as well as a 28-hour mediation training from the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC). Ms. Tavakoli employs collaborative and empathetic practice methods to achieve her client's goals in divorce and custody cases.

Ms. Tavakoli is passionate about making quality legal representation available for everyone, and she regularly takes on pro bono family law cases through Free to Thrive.

Ms. Tavakoli was born and raised in Sweden, and has also worked in Spain and Hong Kong. She speaks Swedish and Finnish, and is conversational in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and is an avid podcast listener.
